Born and raised in England, Gurinder completed his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at UBC, and subsequently earned a Master’s in Applied Legal Studies from SFU. After gaining recognition in the community for his work in social justice, and serving as the Executive Director for a community justice organization, he has chosen to return to UBC to pursue his passion for South Asian Studies and earn a Master’s in the field. He is particularly interested in South Asian languages and literature, the Punjabi diaspora, and social issues as they relate to the South Asian community.
