Julie Vig received her B.A. in Philosophy/Journalism from the Université de Montréal and her M.A. in Religious Studies from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Anne Murphy. Her research is focused on the study of Sikh and Punjabi literary production in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries and its interaction with Indo-Persianate traditions as well as Braj literature produced in courtly and religious contexts, with a particular focus on the gurbilās literary genre.
