 <p>The Bungo Special Interest Group will meet during AATJ and AAS to celebr
 ate <a href="https://asia.ubc.ca/profile/joshua-mostow/">Joshua S. Mostow</
 a>’s monumental contributions to Japan Studies spanning over close to four 
 decades. His wide-ranging expertise in Japanese poetry\, women’s writing\, 
 gendered representations\, translation\, textual reception\, and visual cul
 ture has established him as a leading scholar of Japan.</p><p>Mostow’s work
  seamlessly bridges what are often considered distinct fields—art history a
 nd literature\, premodern and modern\, as well as diverse methodological ap
 proaches—transforming our understanding of Japan’s past and present\, and p
 roving the scholarly potential of boundary crossing.</p><p>The presenters w
 ill highlight aspects of Mostow’s work that have served as a catalyst for f
 urther scholarship. We welcome all to join us in offering reflections on Mo
 stow's impactful career.</p><p>This event is free and open to the public. R
