Indigenous literature has flourished in Taiwan since the “Aboriginal Social Movement” of the 1980s. Up to 2021\, mo re than 120 works have been published\, including novels\, essays\, poems\, and literary reportage. This lecture provides an overview of Taiwan’s indi genous literary field\, covering oral literature\, poems of street protest\ , the launch of Taiwan Indigenous Voice Bimonthly\, and the establishment o f literary prizes. It argues that such literary practices have helped Taiwa n’s indigenous cultures and literatures to find a voice and come into their own.
當代台灣原住民文學自80年代「原住民社會運動」開始倡議，至2021年已經累積120餘本包括小說、散文、詩、報導文學等作品。本講 演主要概述，從口傳文學的整理、街頭社會抗爭的詩歌、《山海文化》雜誌社、文學獎的辦理，藉文學的實踐，逐步建立台灣原住民族文化與文學的「話語權」與「主體性 」。

His most recent publications concern comedy\, ce lebrities\, swindlers\, print culture\, cultural entrepreneurs\, literary c osmopolitanism\, and the scholar-writers Qian Zhongshu and Yang Jiang.

Josephine Chiu-Duke is Professor o f Chinese Intellectual History in the Asian Studies Department at the Unive rsity of British Columbia. Since 2010\, she has been responsible for a cour se on History and Culture of Taiwan for students at University of British C olumbia. As well as publishing many scholarly articles on Chinese history a nd culture\, she is the author of To Rebuild the Empire: Lu Chih’s Confu cian Pragmatist Approach to the Mid-T’ang Predicament (SUNY Press\, 200 0) and co-translator of From Rural China to the Ivy League: Yü Ying-shi h’s Reminiscences of His Life and Times (Amherst\, NY: Cambria Press\, 2021).

Badai is an acclaimed Taiwanese indigenous fict ion writer\, and a member of the Puyuma tribe of eastern Taiwan. His short stories focus on the lives of indigenous people in modern society\, while h is novels draw inspiration from tribal history and culture. His works are k nown for their sense of profound historical immediacy\, rich cultural image ry\, and meticulous evocations of wartime\, as well as their accessibility. Acclaimed works include the story “Ginger Road” and the young adult novel Witch Way. His literary works have been translated into Mongolian\, English\, Japanese\, Czech\, and Korean. He is also a researcher with exper tise in Puyuma shamanism and the indigenous literatures of Taiwan.

文化作為創作素材，作品的特色具濃厚的歷史現場感，豐富的文化意象與細膩的戰爭情緒，作品有極高的辨識度。作品譯有蒙古文、英文、日文、捷克文、韓文。
