UBC Asian Studies cordially invite you to the highly anticipa ted annual Welcome Back Night on Oct 5. Come and learn more about the Asian Studies programs while joining our community in celebrating Asian cultures and languages.
You’ll have the chance to meet with the faculty\, sta ff and mingle with other students during an evening filled with fun activit ies and food!

Here’s a sneak peek at what the Asian Language and C ulture Program booths have to offer!
Arabic\, Hindi-Urdu and Persian: Get a preview of the language programs by learning to wri te your name in all three languages.
Chinese: Join a spinning game and play the traditional Chinese national sport of shuttleco ck\, Jianzi.
Cantonese: Learn and use your strategy skills in the tile game of Mahjong.
Japanese: Come and play traditional Japanese games Fukuwarai and Yo-yo Balloon Fis hing\, and have a hearty laugh together!
Korean: Lea rn the paper craft of folding a Hanbok\, traditional Korean costume\, or ev en better\, have the opportunity to try one on!
Sanskrit: Test your knowledge with the Sanskrit Trivia Quiz.
Tibe tan: Grow your creative skills by practicing Tibetan calligraphy h ere at this booth.
Asian Studies Office: Meet your a dvisor and get to know the university resources available to students.
