The Department of Asian Studies, University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus), invites applications for part-time sessional lecturers for the 2025 Summer Session to teach one or more of the following courses:

ASIA 314 (3)Premodern Japan
ASIA 323 (3)History of Cantonese Worlds
ASIA 326 (3)Critical Approaches to Manga and Anime
ASIA 327 (3)Korean Popular Music in Context
ASIA 363 (3) Fiction and Film from Modern Taiwan
ASIA 444 (3)Topics in Modern Japanese Fiction and Cultural History
ASIA 456 (3)History and Culture of Taiwan
CNTO 311 (3) Basic Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers

A minimum of an MA in a related field and teaching experience in a related field at a North American college/university level is required.

Applicants must be physically located and legally able to work in Canada for the duration of the appointment. All positions are subject to availability of funds and will be governed by UBC/Faculty Association Agreement and the “Conditions of Appointment for Sessional Lecturers.” The current minimum salary is $9,559.11 per 3-credit course.
