In 2018W, the topic for HIST 105B is Pacific War in History and Film. This course interrogates Japanese Pacific War films to contemplate how Japan's contemporary history has been shaped by, and shapes, the presentation and memory of World War II in the Pacific.
Taiwan Fellowship is established by the Foreign Ministry in Taiwan to encourage scholars to do research in Taiwan, on topics ranging from Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, Asia-Pacific region to Chinese studies. The research term is 3-12 months and the finalists begin their research in Taiwan in 2019.
