The BC First Nations invited Dr. Pasang Yangjee Sherpa to present the co-authored report she led, “Recommendations for the Ethical and Equitable Engagements of Indigenous Knowledge Systems within the IPCC” at their Climate Gathering on March 30, 2026.
She was also interviewed about the report by Carbon Brief, a UK-based website covering the latest developments in climate science, climate policy and energy policy.
Dr. Sherpa emphasized that, “If we are really interested in planetary health…we have to make sure that Indigenous peoples and Indigenous peoples’ knowledge is also on the table next to physical science and Euro-Western science.”
