Ali Khalaf received a BA with honors in History at the Université de Montréal and is currently enrolled as an MA student Asian Studies focusing on East Asian socio-political history. His comparative research deals with the institution of Confucian inspired community/village compacts in Chosŏn Korea and Ming China. He is also interested in social control systems, propaganda and Korean popular music.
