Sukhdeep is a PhD student studying under the supervision of Professor Anne Murphy in the Asian Studies Department at the University of British Columbia. Primarily endeavoring to examine 18th century Braj literature in the Sikh context, Sukhdeep is also learning Sanskrit and Persian to achieve this goal. Prior to arriving at UBC, Sukhdeep studied under Professor Ajay Rao at the University of Toronto, completing his M.A. in the study of religion in 2018, where he focused on Sikh versions of Sanskrit epics, such as the Ramayana. Sukhdeep is also a qualified lawyer, having studied law at the University of Ottawa, and articled in the field of tax litigation.
