Evan Koike received his BA from Saint Mary’s College of California and his MA from the University of Kansas. He is currently completing his doctorate in UBC’s Department of Anthropology, and he is a member of the university’s Public Scholars Initiative. Evan’s research examines how nonprofit organizations in Japan’s parenting movement are encouraging Japanese fathers to improve their relationships with their families and to cultivate empathetic and emotive masculinities
