Myongsuk Jin wrote her doctoral dissertation on regional revitalization in a mountainous rural community in Japan. Her research interests include regional regeneration in both rural and urban contexts, as well as gender studies that bring together feminist perspectives and cultural anthropology. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Archaeology and Cultural Anthropology at Jeonbuk National University. In recent years, she has also been conducting ongoing research on community.
