UBC’s Buddhism and Contemporary Society Program, funded by The Tung Lin Kok Yuen Canada Foundation, is hosting a conference, “The Pure Land in Buddhist Cultures” at the University of British Columbia campus from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2, 2013. This year’s keynote speakers will be Dr. Georgios Halkias (Oxford University) and Dr. Masahiro Shimoda (The University of Tokyo). Their lectures, taking place on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 respectively, will be free and open to the public.
