As specified in the UBC Calendar, a maximum of 3 credits of ASIA Research courses is permitted in the fulfillment of any Asian Studies Honours or Major program. We recommend that students take their ASIA R-course in the second term of their 3rd year or later.
Registration in ASIA R-courses will be opened to students in the following order:
- 4th and 5th year Asian Studies Honours and Majors who have not yet fulfilled their research-intensive requirement
- 3rd year Asian Studies Honours and Majors who have not yet fulfilled their research-intensive requirement, capacity permitting
- 3rd year and above Asian Studies Honours and Majors, capacity permitting
Please note that the Department may remove students from the course if the student has previously taken a Research Course.
Other students who wish to be registered must get express permission of the instructor, should seats still remain available in the course. If you have any further questions please contact asian.studies@ubc.ca.
