ASIX 300B – Indigenous Environmentalism in Asia and Beyond
ASIX 300 B Indigenous Environmentalism in Asia and Beyond is a course exploring the sacredness of our environment, starting with the Indigenous lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people where the course will be taught. This course will examine human-environment relationships through the works of Indigenous scholars from different parts of Asia to understand the position, the context, and the material with which they illuminate Indigenous environmentalism.
The UBC Climate Hub offers a guide on how students may advocate to staff and faculty for climate change and climate justice to be further incorporated into course curriculum, and an email template students can use to reach out to faculty with.

For students looking to get highly involved in sustainability initiatives, the UBC Sustainability Ambassadors Program provides opportunities to educate and engage the UBC community. Further, the Sustainability Ambassadors Program organizes several initiatives a year for students to participate in.
