The University of British Columbia’s Persian Literature Reading Club cordially invites you to a series of enchanting evenings dedicated to the harmonious convergence of Nowrouz and Ramadan, two pivotal moments that celebrate the spiritual and natural rejuvenation. This unique amalgamation of traditions underscores the rich tapestry of Persianate cultures during the sacred month of Ramadan—a time of inner transformation and renewal—and Nowrouz, the jubilant celebration of spring and new beginnings.

Our gatherings, aptly themed “The Persian Spread of the Gift,” aim to illuminate the manner in which Persianate communities honor the month of Ramadan, a period devoted to the soul’s revival and reflection, especially when it serendipitously aligns with the festivities of Nowrouz, marking nature’s transformation.
The evenings’ itineraries are imbued with cultural and spiritual activities including:
- Recitations of the Qur’ān commencing thirty minutes prior to Iftār, the moment of breaking the fast.
- Collective prayers (Salāt Jamā’at)
- A shared iftār feast
- An opportunity to mingle, reconnect, and forge new friendships amidst the backdrop of cultural celebration.
We extend this invitation with open hearts and joyous spirits, hoping to share this momentous occasion with friends, scholars, and enthusiasts of Persian culture. Join us in embracing the dual joy of Nowrouz and Ramadan, as we engage in reflective practices, communal dining, and the renewal of bonds under the auspices of these revered traditions.

باشگاه ادبیات فارسی دانشگاه بریتیش کلمبیا با کمال مسرت شما را به سلسله‌ای از شب‌های انس و معنویت به مناسبتِ همزمانی نوروز با ماه رمضان، دو رویداد محوری که نماد تجدید حیات روحی و طبیعی‌اند، دعوت می‌نماید.

محور برنامه‌های ما، که با عنوان “سفره‌ی هدیه فارسی” نام‌گذاری شده‌اند، به نمایش گذاشتن نحوه جشن گرفتن جامعه‌های فارسی‌زبان در ماه رمضان است، ماهی که به تزکیه نفس اختصاص دارد، به‌ویژه زمانی که با جشن نوروز همراه است.
فعالیت‌های ما شامل:
قرائت قرآن که سی دقیقه قبل از افطار آغاز می‌شود.
نماز جماعت
افطاری مشترک
هم‌صحبتی با دوستان و بازسازی و تحکیم دوستی‌ها
در این جشن معنوی و فرهنگی به ما بپیوندید تا با هم در عبادت، ضیافت و تجدید پیوندها در زیر چتر این دو سنت بزرگ، شرکت کنیم.
