The Incense Ceremony in Traditional Japan

The event will feature a slide lecture on incense, Japanese incense ceremony, and beneficial effects of incense. The participants will also experience the fragrance of kyara which is the highest quality of agarwood and sandalwood as well as the original fermented neri-koh along with a demonstration of Japanese incense ceremony.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

Speaker

Professor Eriyo Watanabe, affiliated with Nihon Pharmaceutical University in Tokyo, is the Director of the Incense Research Institute and a master of Ren Shin Ryu School of Incense in Japan. Her professional training includes study of expressive arts therapy at Lesley University. She is one of the foremost experts of Japanese incense culture.
