Wondering where an Asian Studies degree can take you? The Department of Asian Studies is delighted to bring back another Asian Studies careers workshop this May! The Virtual Asian Studies Careers Workshop was launched in January 2022 and is designed to connect Asian Studies students with employers and opportunities. The aim of the workshop is to help students feel more confident in exploring their future career path. It is open to Asian Studies undergraduate/graduate students, fresh graduates and alumni. Students and alumni from other disciplines are also welcome to attend.

The “Careers and Engagement in Asia” workshop series will take place during the week of May 16th, which coincides with Asian Heritage Month. We will invite Consul Generals, regional trade representatives, and leaders in business and organizations on Canada-Asia relations to talk about the following opportunities in Asian countries/regions, including China, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Taiwan.

  • Educational and academic opportunities
  • Cultural exchange programs
  • Professional career opportunities
