The Department of Asian Studies, University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus), invites applications for part-time sessional lecturers for the 2025 Winter Session to teach one or more of the following courses:

CNTO 311 (3)Basic Cantonese for Mandarin Speakers
PERS 104 (3)Persian Reading and Writing for Persian-Speaking Students
PERS 200 (3)Intermediate-Low Persian I
PERS 201 (3)Intermediate-Low Persian II
PERS 400 (3)Persian Short Story for Native and Heritage Speakers
TIBT 100 (3)Introduction to Tibetan I
TIBT 101 (3)Introduction to Tibetan II

A minimum of an MA in a related field and teaching experience in a related field at a North American college/university level is required.

Applicants must be physically located and legally able to work in Canada for the duration of the appointment. All positions are subject to availability of funds and will be governed by UBC/Faculty Association Agreement and the “Conditions of Appointment for Sessional Lecturers.” The current minimum salary is $9,559.11 per 3-credit course.
