On December 7th, 2013, the Pulleyblank Family and The Department of Asian Studies held a memorial service in honour of the late Edwin G. Pulleyblank (August 7, 1922 — April 13, 2013).
Dr. Pulleyblank was a distinguished sinologist, linguist, and administrator. He joined the Department of Asian Studies in 1966 and served as the Head of the Department from 1968 to 1975. In 1970 he was elected to serve as the Director of the Association of Asian Studies.
