1. CHIN 470 951 Reading and Writing Classical Chinese Poetry

Beyond traditional text-based approaches, the course emphasizes interdisciplinary perspectives, incorporating visual and theatrical studies, media analysis, translation studies, and performance studies. Led by Lecturer Yuning Liu, Ph.D. candidate in Theatre Studies at UBC, students will explore the multi-layered narratives, cultural contexts, and innovative staging techniques that have shaped modern Chinese drama. Through collaborations and outreach initiatives, moreover, students will have the opportunity to engage with the vibrant world of theater both on and off-campus, enriching their college experience in connection with student drama societies and theatrical troupes.
