The Department’s Dr. Stefania Burk, Senior Instructor in Medieval Japanese Literature, Culture and Society and Associate Graduate Advisor, has received a Faculty of Arts Dean’s nomination to participate in the 2014-2015 International Faculty Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Leadership Program. This program aims to “prepare senior educational leaders to develop expertise in scholarly approaches to, and the scholarship of curriculum and pedagogical practices in complex higher education settings.” (http://international.educ.ubc.ca/sotl/). Dr. Burk plans to focus her project around undergraduate curriculum renewal and looks forward to bringing what she learns back to the Asian Studies Department.
