New publication: “Literary Information in China: A History” co-edited by Dr. Bruce Rusk



Congratulations to Dr. Bruce Rusk on the co-edited publication Literary Information in China: A History (Chen, Jack Wei, Anatoly Detwyler, Xiao Liu, Christopher M. B. Nugent, and Bruce Rusk, eds., Columbia University Press). Dr. Rusk is an associate professor of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia. His main areas of research and teaching are on cultural history of China, especially the Ming (1368–1644) through early Qing (1644–1911) dynasties. He has worked on the history of textual studies, literary culture, writing systems, and connoisseurship.

According to the publisher, Columbia University Press, Literary Information in China is “a groundbreaking work that provides a systematic and innovative reassessment of literary history with implications that extend beyond the particular Chinese context, revealing how informatic practices shape literary tradition”.
