We are delighted to share Dr. Colleen Laird’s new video series on formal film analysis focusing on Japanese Cinema. These videos are intended for use in Japanese Cinema and Media classrooms and include student-centered exercises, but all viewers with an interest in learning foundational skills associated with introductory-level film analysis are invited.

The first two instalments of the four videos in the series are now available for viewing.

Part One: Japanese Cinema: Mise en scene

Part Two: Japanese Cinema: Cinematography
