Anastasia is currently pursuing an M.A. in Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Drs. Bruce Fulton, Ross King, and Hyung-Gu Lynn. She received her B.A. in Korean Language and Culture at UBC, during which she submitted an Honours thesis titled “Representations of Comfort Women in Korean and Korean-American Literature.” Anastasia’s primary research interests include LGBTQ+ representation in modern Korean literature and portrayals of comfort women in modern fiction.

As a research assistant for Dr. Ross King, Anastasia has spent over a year working on various manuscripts focusing on koryo-saram, and works closely with Russian-language documents from the 19th and 20th centuries. She has additionally worked as a research assistant for the academic journal Pacific Affairs supervised by Dr. Hyung-Gu Lynn, and as a research assistant to Dr. Megan Swift at the University of Victoria.
