About

Dr. Ho Jung Choi’s work focuses on advancing Korean language education through innovative pedagogy, curriculum design, and community engagement. Before joining UBC, he directed the Korean Language Program at Princeton University and taught at several institutions in the United States, including the University of Iowa and Middlebury College. His teaching and research encompass Korean language pedagogy, curriculum development, teacher education, multiliteracies, and intercultural competence, with a strong emphasis on creating engaging and culturally rich learning environments. He also developed and managed a faculty-led summer program in Seoul, along with short-term internships, as part of the Princeton in Korea (PIK) initiative. At UBC, he continues to build connections for Korean language learners by collaborating with local and global partners to foster meaningful communities of learning and practice.
