About

Jvala (Sukh Sembi) is a PhD student studying under the supervision of Professor Anne Murphy in the Asian Studies Department at the University of British Columbia. He is primarily examining 18th and 19th century Brajbhasha literature in the Sikh context. Prior to arriving at UBC, he studied under Professor Ajay Rao at the University of Toronto, completing his M.A. in the study of religion in 2018, where he focused on Sikh versions of Sanskrit epics, such as the Ramayana.
