About

Ting-Hsuan Chang received her master’s degree in the Department of Chinese as a Second Language at National Taiwan Normal University in 2023. Her respect and admiration for education were cultivated early in life, largely influenced by her mother, who was also a teacher. Education is a critically important process that affects all aspects of society, and she is drawn to it for its potential to positively influence the world, particularly through enhanced collaboration and communication resulting from language learning.

Ting-Hsuan Chang has served as a drill instructor in the 2019 UBC Summer Overseas Chinese Program. Subsequently, she was honoured to be selected for the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Fulbright Program (FLTA) from 2020 to 2021, where she worked as a private instructor in the Critical Language Enhancement Award program. Ting-Hsuan Chang helped her students, who received Fulbright Master’s Degree Program Awards, to master Chinese at an advanced level by 2023. During the summers of 2022 and 2023, she worked as a Chinese instructor at the Middlebury Chinese School in Vermont, USA.

Ting-Hsuan Chang firmly believes that the journey of language learning should extend beyond the classroom and into daily life to maximize the benefits for learners. She has a profound passion for teaching and learning, along with the dedication and tenacity to pursue these passions to the greatest extent possible. It is her great privilege and honour to contribute her enthusiasm and knowledge to the eager students of the Chinese Program at UBC.
