About

Wen-Hui is a visiting lecturer of Chinese language. She received her M.A. Degree in Chinese Pedagogy from Indiana University Bloomington. Before joining the Department of Asian Studies at UBC, she taught Chinese courses at Colby College and Indiana University Bloomington in the U.S. and Chinese Language Center of National Taichung University of Education in Taiwan.

Wen-Hui believes that it is crucial to create a safe learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes. She encourages students to recognize that anxiety is a natural part of the learning process and to embrace the discomfort as a sign that they are growing. Moreover, she aspires to motivate her students to venture beyond their comfort zones, encouraging them to pursue their passions, align with their life goals, and continuously expand their capacity as lifelong learners.
