The Indigenous Asia Initiative in the Department of Asian Studies is committed to Indigenizing our curriculum and organizing events that advance research and teaching on Indigenous Asia. Since its inception, the committee has developed new undergraduate and graduate-level courses and organized workshops for faculty and graduate students in the department to Indigenize and decolonize teaching and learning. Members of the committee, including two faculty members and a graduate student specializing in Lifeways in Indigenous Asia, and others dedicated to promoting this scholarship, have organized public events featuring Indigenous artists, filmmakers, writers and scholars from Asia.
