The Persian Language and Iranian Studies Initiative at the University of British Columbia (UBC) was launched in 2011. Our program offers courses at different levels of proficiency for learning to speak, read, and write in Persian/Farsi, while also developing Persianate cultural awareness. Additionally, we provide courses in Iranian studies – offered and taught in English – that explore the historical and sociocultural impact of Iran and the Persianate culture.
