UNIK Korean Language Table Event Information

The UBC Journal of Political Studies (JPS), a publication supported by the Political Science Student Association and the Department of Political Science, is seeking students to fill our 2017 Editorial Board. More information about the JPS can be found at our website. Please note you do not need to be a Political Science major to edit with us. We have a history of diverse editorial boards with students from many departments and disciplines which only serves to improve the quality of the journal.
Our editors solicit submissions, receive editorial training from seasoned student editors, and following rounds of lively debate and vigorous contestation, select and edit articles fit for publication in the Journal. The time commitment is roughly five hours per week, but this fluctuates during the year. The bulk of the work takes place in second term.
This is an excellent opportunity to become involved with one of the premier undergraduate research journals in the country, gain valuable experience in academic writing, editing and publishing, and interact with intellectually laudable peers. Editors are still eligible to submit papers for publication, as we have a blind-peer review process.
How to apply:
Interested students should send their application via email to editor.ubcpssa@gmail.com by midnight on September 28th, 2016. Your application email should include the following information:
· A cover letter and resume, underscoring your research interests and your motivations for joining the JPS.
· Your declared major(s) and intended graduation date.
· A writing sample of no more than three pages
Successful applicants will demonstrate an avid interest in political research, analysis and theory, and an excellent command of English composition and grammar. Formal editing experience is an asset but not required – all editors will be trained. Although all JPS editorial positions are volunteer, reference letters may be provided at the end of the year for proficient editors who solicit them.
