Jiaxin Yang is currently a MA student working with Dr. Renren Yang in the Department of Asian Studies. Her research interests include multimedia texts in modern China and Contemporary Chinese web novels and fanfictions. She has a great passion in exploring transcultural Nationalism between China and Japan, global literature retold in Socialist China, re-appearing motifs in contemporary Chinese Web Novels.

Before joining the MA program, she received her Bachelor of Commerce with a Minor in Asian Language and Culture from the University of British Columbia.
