Community-Engaged Nepali Language Summer Course at UBC
Nepali Language in a Community Context (NEPL 390)
A two-week summer introductory Nepali language course offered by the UBC Himalaya Program and Department of Asian Studies. This community-engaged course blends classroom instruction with experiential learning opportunities with Nepali community partners in the Lower Mainland.

Intensive Tibetan Language Summer Course at UBC

Intermediate Sanskrit (SANS 400)
As a continuation of Introductory Sanskrit (SANS 300), this 6-week course will introduce students to the additional grammatical concepts, structures, and systems needed to read Sanskrit texts. The second part of the course will be devoted to reading passages and commentarial literature from the Sanskrit epics, the Rāmāyaṇa and the Mahābhārata.

This course is open to students who have completed SANS 300 or an equivalent introductory Sanskrit course at the university level. And it may be taken for the Credit/D/Fail grading option. Undergraduate students from other institutions and lifelong learners can register through one of the Non-Degree Studies Programs. The deadline to apply to a program prior to registering for the course is March 15, 2023.
Graduate students from other institutions can register through one of the Visiting Graduate Student Programs. Graduate students enrolled at other Canadian universities may be eligible to take the course at no additional tuition. Deadlines for visiting graduate student programs vary starting as early as March 15, 2023.
